About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Linux Engineer in Bengaluru to design, deploy, and maintain robust Linux-based infrastructures. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate operations, ensure high availability, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain enterprise Linux servers and related services
Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate routine tasks
Implement and manage automation frameworks using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot networking components (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
Design and deploy cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines
Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and system optimization
Maintain system security and compliance through patch management and vulnerability assessments
Create and update technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents promptly
Mentor and train junior engineers on best practices and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications:
2-7 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration
Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols
Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)
Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent Linux certification
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator, or GCP Professional Cloud Engineer
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Experience integrating monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
Exposure to CI/CD tools and pipeline automation (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Knowledge of database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
Strong collaboration and leadership skills in agile environments
