Manual Tester

**About the Role:** We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to join our QA team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in software testing, with strong hands-on knowledge of MySQL and a basic understanding of Java. You will work closely with development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables by executing comprehensive manual test plans and reporting defects. **Responsibilities:** - Develop, document, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual testing - Execute functional, regression, usability, and integration tests to identify software defects - Log, track, and verify defects using a bug-tracking tool and work with developers to resolve issues - Validate bug fixes and perform retesting to ensure the quality of deliverables - Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria - Participate in requirement and design reviews to provide input on testability and potential issues - Prepare and present test summary reports and metrics to project stakeholders - Ensure compliance with QA best practices, processes, and standards throughout the software development lifecycle **Required Qualifications:** - 3 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing - Strong proficiency in SQL/MySQL for backend data validation - Basic understanding of Java and ability to read/debug simple code snippets - Solid grasp of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC) - Experience writing clear and comprehensive test cases and bug reports - Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field **Preferred Qualifications:** - ISTQB Foundation Level certification - Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment - Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG) - Knowledge of performance or security testing methodologies - Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - Prior experience in a client-facing role or working with remote teams
