Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Tester
**About the Role:**
We are seeking an entry-level Software Tester to join our Bangalore office. The ideal candidate will work closely with our development team to design, execute, and maintain test cases for Java and C based applications, ensuring high quality and reliability of our software products.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop, document, and execute test plans and test cases for Java and C applications
- Identify, record, and track software defects using bug tracking tools
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Perform regression testing and report on test results
- Participate in requirement reviews to provide input on testability and quality considerations
- Maintain test environments and test data
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and best practices
**Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
- Hands-on experience testing Java and C applications
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
- Experience writing clear and concise test cases and bug reports
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification
- Experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Basic SQL knowledge for database testing
- Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
