
The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the seamless execution of transformative projects of SAP or Oracle ERP implementations. This role as a Project Manager will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional tea.ms, business and IT stakeholders, and external partners to meticulously plan and oversee project scope, milestones, resource allocation, budgets, and timelines. With a proven track record in navigating complex projects in ERP implementation, the role will leverage your outstanding leadership, communication, and project management competencies to drive the realization of project objectives, ensuring the attainment of desired outcomes for the organization. Essential Roles and Responsibilities Strategic Roles and Responsibilities • Ensure timely project delivery within budget and quality parameters, specializing in ERP project implementation. • Collaborate with stakeholders to support the development of project strategies that align with the organization's goals and assist the Program Manager in achieving overall program objectives. • Focus on efficient implementation of project elements and processes. • Facilitate the transition of project deliverables to business-as-usual operations. • Drive strong governance processes for timely decision-making and program visibility. • Lead cross-functional project teams, defining requirements and managing timelines. Functional Roles and Responsibilities Planning and Setup: • Develop detailed project plans in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, including vendors and internal teams. • Identify key stakeholders and manage their engagement, in coordination with Change Management partners. • Establish an effective Project Management Office (PMO) structure and team to ensure streamlined governance and progress tracking. • Evaluate and allocate the right people and skills within the project to ensure optimal team composition. • Set up a dedicated communications office in conjunction with Change Management partners to facilitate transparent and regular communication with project stakeholders. Governance and Reporting: • Implement and enforce project governance processes, ensuring adherence across the project lifecycle. • Monitor project costs against the budget, track expenditures, and align them with delivered benefits. • Produce and communicate regular Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions. Delivery: • Coordinate and monitor the activities of multiple project teams, both within the business and IT departments. • Manage dependencies within the project as well as interactions with business-as-usual (BAU) activities. • Oversee project scope management, ensuring that amendments and scope changes are aligned with project goals and adhere to design principles. • Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent deviations from project objectives. • Ensure quality assurance throughout the project by collaborating with Quality Assurance (QA) teams. • Provide post-implementation support, facilitating reviews to evaluate the success of project outcomes, gather feedback, and identify areas for ongoing improvement. • Collaborate closely with Change Management partners to enable effective change management activities throughout the project. • Support the smooth transition of project deliverables into the business-as-usual phase. People Management Roles and Responsibilities Managing Performance • Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly. • Direct, motivate, and develop the project team, PMO, and QA resources, ensuring efficient collaboration and optimal performance. • Engage and manage stakeholders, particularly focusing on impacted stakeholders and contributing vendors, maintaining effective relationships and maintain alignment with project objectives. Self-Management • Manage self in line with the organisation’s HR policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximise employee contribution to business performance. Job Requirements Education/Certification and Continued Education • A relevant University degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field Years of Experience • 10+ years of project/program management, with at least 4 years of experience in complex SAP or Oracle ERP transformations, cloud SaaS implementations with integrations to multiple in-house and external systems. • Previous experience in a project management role / implemented ERP SaaS solution across a multi-industry organization, across multiple functions (Corporate Finance, Retail, etc). Knowledge and Skills • Proven experience as a Program Manager – PgMP® and PMP® (or similar) certifications would be an added advantage • Have strong knowledge of processes across multiple business functions. • Proven knowledge of technical, commercial and organizational issues that impact Program strategy and planning • Thorough understanding of project/Program management techniques and methods in Waterfall, Agile & Hybrid method. • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (MS Project etc.) is mandatory
