Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Tester to join our QA team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will work closely with development and product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software through comprehensive manual testing and basic Java-based test automation. This role is open to candidates with 0–5 years of experience in software testing.
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for functional, regression, and user acceptance testing
Execute manual test cases and accurately document test results
Identify, log, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools such as JIRA
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and reproduce issues
Participate in requirement reviews to provide input on testability and quality risks
Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing for each software release
Maintain and update test documentation, test data sets, and test environments
Assist in writing and maintaining basic automated test scripts in Java where applicable
Ensure adherence to QA processes, standards, and best practices
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
0–5 years of experience in software testing with a strong emphasis on manual testing
Proficiency in Java for test case development, debugging, and basic automation
Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC)
Hands-on experience with bug-tracking and test-management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
Good knowledge of test design techniques, defect lifecycle management, and testing methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent
Experience with Java-based automation frameworks such as Selenium or TestNG
Familiarity with SQL and experience in database testing
Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins)
Basic understanding of performance and security testing concepts
