Vehicle Inspection and Safety Officer

**Job Title:** Vehicle Inspection and Safety Officer **About the Role:** The driver will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and smooth execution of autonomous vehicle road tests. The driver will be responsible for monitoring vehicle behavior, performing timely safety interventions when required, maintaining vehicle readiness, and supporting operational and testing activities across designated areas in Dubai. **Responsibilities:** - Ensure driving safety during autonomous vehicle road tests through continuous vigilance, safety prediction, and timely manual intervention when necessary. - Safeguard the vehicle, onboard personnel, pedestrians, and other road users at all times. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, routine checks, basic maintenance, and daily vehicle upkeep. - Identify, document, and report obstacles, system issues, or abnormal vehicle behavior during testing or operations. - Handle on-site safety incidents, including evidence collection, maintaining order, coordinating lawful vehicle removal, communicating with the public, and supporting emergency response procedures. - Perform functional tests, passenger-carrying tests, operational assignments, demonstrations, and guest ride services as required. - Carry out assigned tasks across different city zones, including temporary reception duties related to autonomous vehicle operations. - Participate in job-related training and support additional tasks assigned by fleet or operations teams. **Required Qualifications:** - Minimum 3 years of driving experience. - Valid local UAE driving license (Automatic). - English language proficiency (spoken and basic written). - Age between 25–40 years. - Ability to work shift-based schedules, including night shifts. - Immediate availability or short notice period preferred. - Must provide a Police Clearance / No Criminal Record Certificate (cost reimbursed by Baidu). - Strong sense of responsibility, alertness, and adherence to safety procedures. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Prior experience in autonomous vehicle testing, fleet operations, safety driving, or logistics driving roles. - Familiarity with vehicle inspection procedures and basic automotive maintenance. - Experience working in high-compliance or safety-sensitive environments. - Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency or high-pressure situations. - Willingness to work across multiple locations within the city.
